Full description

The examiner holds the patient’s arm in internal rotation behind the patient’s back with the dorsum of the hand facing the back and the shoulder in about 20 degrees of extension. The examiner supports the patient’s elbow as well as the wrist. Then the examiner releases the wrist, and the patient is able to maintain the position, indicating an absence of a subscapularis tear.
