In this patient with anterior instability of the shoulder, the examiner can dislocate the humeral head from the glenoid cavity with an anterior force. The examiner can also relocate the humeral head back into the glenoid cavity with a posterior force. This finding is consistent with a 3+ anterior load and shift test.
