The examiner demonstrates the appropriate technique for the external rotation lag sign on the patient’s right shoulder. The patient is seated on the examiner’s table with the right shoulder fully adducted and the elbow at 90 degrees of flexion. The examiner places the patient’s right shoulder in maximal external rotation and asks them to maintain this position.
